A few years ago we were asked by Sheffield Forgemasters to build them an overhead crane for their foundry and forge. And it was a big one. They needed the crane to be capable of lifting 150 tonnes SWL and it needed to be 34 meters long. We also fitted a series of additional safety features such as specialist limit switches and anti-collision devices as per the customer’s request, as well being inverter driven and wireless radio remote control operated. Any manufacturing specification is available on our brand new and used cranes.
After our skilled and experienced crane installation team had the crane in place on the gantry steelwork system it was very impressive to see our giant overhead lift the extra heavy casts Sheffield Forgemasters are renowned for manufacturing.
