Altida Mobile Crane Installing a Refurbished Demag 16 Tonne 18 Meter Used Overhead Crane with Twin Beams and 5 Tonne Auxiliary Hoist

Our expert crane installation team are seen here installing this Demag 16 tonne reconditioned crane using a Demag 40 Tonne City mobile crane, hired from Altida Ltd.

This refurbished crane came out looking really nice, which you can see here in our other photo portfolio. The additional 5 Tonne auxiliary hoist the customer requested gets used everyday.

We kitted this crane out with inverter control for Forward/Reverse and Left/Right motions, with dual speed super smooth control on the Up/Down. The customer also wanted us to fit an Autec radio wireless remote control system which means a working distance of up to 40 meters, preventing any chance of swinging and smashing cable pendant remotes, as well as breaking the cables inside them. Wireless and Inverter is the way to go.

We have in stock all steelwork and parts to manufacture any brand new cranes, as well as having vast used crane stock such as this Demag Double-Girder Overhead Travelling Crane that gets thoroughly stripped down in our manufacturing facility, serviced, shot blasted and spray painted, that all adheres to strict refurbishing quality control procedures. All our brand new and used refurbished cranes get kitted out with brand new electronics and control panel.

Additional Crane Features.

You can also request additional crane features such as:

• Anti-Collision: Your crane can be fitted with spider limits and sensors to automatically slow the cranes into creep speed approximately two metres before each crane potentially collides with one another or hits the end stops.

• Load Limiters: Prevents the hoist from lifting anything more than it’s MAX SWL.

• Load Display: Shows the operator what weight in KG is being lifted

• Audible Alarm: A siren that notifies the surrounding area that the crane is in motion

• Motion Lights: Lighting to warn people that the crane is moving

• Hydraulic Buffers: This will prevent damage done to the crane when it reaches the end stops.

• Long Travel Emergency ‘E-Stop’: Kill Switch.

• Floodlight System: To light up the crane working area at nighttime or in poor visibility.

• Walkway Maintenance Platforms: Allowing service engineers to access the hoists and carriages for repair work.

• Safety Harness Wires: To clip personal to when working up at height to prevent anyone falling off the crane.

• Storm Lock Off Anchors (Breaking System): Typically used on Goliath Cranes for outdoor use in bad weather

• Rain Covers: Guards to stop water from getting into the motors and hoist unit.

• Auto Rail Clamps: These rail clamps are very clever and act as a de-railing mechanism, and work by pressing the rail sides, only in the event that the wind force overcomes the Goliath crane’s brake capacity. When this happens the crane tends to move, however the rail clamps then press on the sides of the floor mounted rail track with a proportional force to that of the wind force.
