We have 1 off used 1997 ABUS 3.2 tonne 14 metre single girder M4 overhead crane in stock.
When we come to refurbish the crane it will get re-sized, such as cut down or extended, to suit the customer’s rail centres. It can also get modified to suit a customers headroom such as altering the top taper on each end of the girder to run in line with any rof eave support brackets, or stool the crane up for more height of lift.
The steelwork would also be shot blasted and spray painted with new stick decals.
The overhead crane would be sold with the original used ‘as is’ dual-speed contactor control panel equipment. A brand new inverter variable multi-speed frequency control panel for all travel motions can also be incorporate for a small additional cost.
If you are looking for a cheaper option than brand new then send us an email enquiry to sales@chesterfieldcrane.co.uk for a bargain price on this excellent used ABUS. We also offer delivery, install, commissioning and proof load testing services for an all-in-one package offer.

Please get in contact via phone: 01246 454521 or email: sales@chesterfieldcrane.co.uk to learn more about our range of used overhead cranes and to see how we may be able to assist you. We have vast stocks ranging in sizes and can fabricate, re-fabricate, modify, engineer and design any type of crane you need ??
POWER SUPPLY AND FUSE PROTECTION
For the proposed overhead crane the below electrical information is a rough approximate guideline as to what fuse protection is required in your facility for the crane to operate successfully. We always recommend giving yourself more fuse protection if you are able and going up to the next fuse rating.
1 off, 3.2 Tonne 14,000mm Single Beam Overhead Crane: APPROX Output (per crane)
BUSBAR CONDUCTOR SYSTEM: LOW LEVEL ISOLATOR TO THE HIGH LEVEL TERMINAL
From the low level isolator the high level terminal point should have DIN rail and modular terminal connection blocks to connect to (isolator – terminal – busbar).
From the terminal point to busbar we need approx. 3 metres (or however many metres of cable need to reach the busbar feed point near the gantry beam section) of approx. 70mm² cable with 70mm² 10mm crimped lugs.
NOTE: When deciding upon your 415V cable thickness, MCB trip, MCCB and fuse protection please bear in mind the ‘diversity factor’ (usage of any and all 415V equipment/machines on the same supply at one time in that one facility).
NOTE. The busbar conductor and fuse protection may be upgrading to a bigger capacity .ie 200amps if multiple cranes are operating in fast speed on the same system at the same time.
This means you must consider what will be the worst case scenario on that 415V busbar conductor system, for example if you have multiple cranes operating on the same gantry and using the same busbar conductor system (using the same fuse) and all the multiple crane’s travel motions are then powered up in fast speed all at the same time, which would result in more inrush current and consequently needing bigger fuse protection. If this is unlikely (diversity factor) and never going to happen then lower fuse protection would be sufficient.
It is the responsibility of the customer to consult an electrical contractor in order to calculate the precise running currents and inrush currents based on the crane‘s motor sizes (and if the crane has soft start or inverter frequency control – if included in the panel) in order to calculate the minimum required fuse protection.
